| Bill Merrill |
Bill was born and raised in Wyoming and is 5th generation Wyomingite. He was college athlete at Black Hills State University in Spearfish, SD before moving onto Football and then Rugby at the University of Wyoming in Laramie. Bill graduated with a BA in Communications and Mass Media and a minor in Marketing and PR.
Sports never left much time for hunting until recent years as it paid the bills at school, but Bill comes from a long line of Outfitters and Elk and Deer hunters in northern Wyoming where he lived for awhile on the family ranch. He got back into hunting in 2006 when he picked up a bow and began exploring Montana's public lands.
Only he knew something was amiss and began to recognize the problems of predation and habitat loss. He joined the Big Horn Basin Chapter of SFW in 2009 and finally jumped into SFW in earnest founding the Montana Chapter with several other amazing outdoors men and women in February of 2010.
Bill has lived in Montana for 13 years now. He is a telecom consultant and Account Executive in Missoula where he lives with his wife and 2 small children.
He is also an avid fly-fisherman and loves to float on Montana's beautiful streams and rivers when not coaching his little ones sports and activities. He can be found camping w/ his family from April to November on Montana public lands and fighting for Montana's sportsmen, land owners and big game herds year round nowadays.
